Peace Party to contest Delhi polls, releases first list of candidates

Lucknow: Peace Party, an emerging minority voice in Uttar Pradesh, is all set to foray into the tough terrain of national politics. After proving its strength in Uttar Pradesh, the party is now eyeing New Delhi assembly polls. Although, the party is likely to contest important seats, it is primarily focusing on Muslim populated eastern and southern areas.

Talking to ‘The Focus Info’, Party’s state general secretary Mohammad Khalid asserted the party has announced its candidates for 11 assembly seats. “Another list of candidates will be announced soon,” he said adding “We will contest over 40 seats.”

The party has confirmed that its candidates will contest from Mustafbad, Seelampur, Karwal Nagar, Kiradhi, New Delhi, Narela, Gandhi Nagar and Seemapuri.

 

Elaborating party plans, he said, “Party will make its presence felt at national level as we are also preparing for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. We might contest from UP, Maharashtra, Haryana and Rajasthan.”
